Columbus Day Regatta Press Release

On October 11 & 12, 2014 our title sponsor will be joining us again to make the BACARDI COLUMBUS DAY REGATTA for the 60th year of this oldest regatta in Miami

The regatta committee has made changes, moving to some exciting new venues for this year’s regatta, steeped with tradition and continue to support the enthusiasm of the past. Come join us and race in the greenest sport on the earth!

The courses remain the same as the last 6 years so the Saturday finish / Sunday start is just north of Black Ledge, allowing sailors the easier option of returning shore side for the night or continuing down to Elliot.

The first venue change will be the Friday evening Skipper’s Meeting and Packet Pick up. This will now take place at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club and will feature their Friday night Happy Hour.

Also, New for 2014, the Dockside Party will become the 'CDR CONQUISTADOR DINNER & DANCE @ Shake-A-Leg Miami. The party will commence at 1900 hours, Saturday, October 11, 2014 and will feature dinner, an open bar by BACARDI, dancing with a band and a famous Shake-A-Leg auction along with other entertainment – food & sponsors to be announced.

Trophies presented to the first three yachts in each class. New trophies are being designed for 2014.

Entry form is online for easier registration as well as pre-ordering t-shirts and Dinner reservations for the Dockside Dinner & Dance. Memorabilia items available @ the regatta.
