Have the
courses changed for Columbus Day Regatta This Year?
No. Courses remain the same as for last year. The finish line for Saturday's
race and starting line for Sunday's race have been moved to the vicinity
approximately 0.5 nm Northeast of Y (Government mark, Fl R 4s 16 ft 4M "2" Black
Ledge).
What is
the difference between the ARC and Gunkhole classes?
The Assigned Rating Class (ARC) races courses with
mark roundings. The Gunkhole class races a course from start to finish with no
mark intermediate mark roundings. Reaching and running sails (spinnaker, 2nd
jib or genoa on one pole downwind, drifter, blooper, and so forth) may be used
in the ARC class if they are declared on the entry form. These sails are not
allowed in the Gunkhole class.
