The following are the results of the poll conducted of the 285 CDR racers
with e-mail addresses.
The question was: Do you prefer to finish Saturday's race near Key
Biscayne, to avoid the rowdy party off Elliot Key, or finish off Elliot Key
as we have done in the past.
Of the 84 received responses, 50 (60%) voted for finishing off Elliot Key
as in the past, 34 (40%) for finishing off Key Biscayne.
(Note the unusual pattern in the results, in that there was
no-one who didn't know - sailors must be an intelligent bunch of people)
Reason given were as follows.
Key Biscayne - no loud music, they could dock at CRYC (CRYC could
not handle the crowd)
Elliot Key - Tradition, they like to party, they anchor away
(Sands Key, south of party, west of party by west Featherbed Bank), they
don't want another two day BBYRA event, they are going south period,
suggestions were to have a restricted anchorage for CDR or have a curfew for
the partier
